He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Root and Doris Root (Burns); his wife Barbara Root (Morgan); his son Mark Root; and his brother Russell Root.
He is survived by: his son Stan Root (Carla) of Alto; his grandsons, Steve Root (Ashley) of Hastings and Curtis Root of Nashville; his great grandchild Teddy Root; and his siblings, Barbara Ulrich of Greenville and Glenn Root (Linda Collins) of Merced, CA. He is also survived by his niece and nephews.
