He was predeceased by: his parents, Burt Smith and Clara Smith; his wife Nancy (Vernier); his siblings, Leona, Marcine, Burdelle, Sturges, Harold and Wayne; and his siblings-in-law, Dolores Boyd and Lewis Vernier (Martha).
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Holt (Martin) of Jackson, Mark Smith of Lansing and Sandy Smith (Vickie) of Oregon; his grandchildren, Heather Sanders (Steven) of Jackson, Aaron Holt of Jackson, Steve Holt (Angie) of Jackson, Mark Smith (Darsey), Jeremie Smith and Rebecca Smith; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Sierra, Georgia, Aubrey, Grayce, Aaron, Luke, Dillon, Breanna and Tyler.
