He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kathy; his children, Leah, Mike Sudborough, Lucas and Shannon Dykstra; his parents, Terry Dykstra and Evelyn Dykstra; his siblings, Jeff Dykstra (Kristy), Kerri (Al Nykamp), Konie (Keith Walters) and Kimberly Klaasen; and his nieces and nephews, Heather of Best, Heidi of Best, Bethany (Joshua Franken), Erin (Brandon Van Groningen), Troy Nykamp, Anna (Nick Rillema), Rachel (Randy Palmbos) and Julie (Robert Dykstra). He was also cherished by seven great-nephews.
Memorial contributions may be given to Susan Mast ALS Foundation, Pillar Church Building Fund and Holland Christian Schools.
