She was predeceased by: her parents, John Braid and Vaughn Braid of Northern Michigan; her brother John Braid; and her brother-in-law Fred Stearns of St. Ignace. She is survived by: her husband Ronald C. Vliet; her children, Deborah Ann Vliet of Holland, Alan Vliet and Jean Vliet of Chicago; and her grandson Austin J. O'Malley IV of Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
