He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucius Smith and Laura Smith (Doyle); his wife Thelma Smith; his sons, Mark Smith and Dave Smith; and his siblings, Lucius and Edytha.
He is survived by: his son Brian Smith; his grandchildren, Jennifer Douglas (Andy), Mark Smith (Candace), Kirby Smith (Ashley) and Minda Smith; his daughter-in-law Kathy Smith; and his brother Max R. Smith. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Howell or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
