She was predeceased by : her husband Arnold "Arnie" Kooienga; her parents, Samuel Ploeg and Esther Vander Ploeg; her brothers, Marvin Vander Ploeg, Don Vander Ploeg and Wendell Vander Ploeg; her granddaughter Rachel Hamminga; and her daughter-in-law Barb Kooienga.
She is survived by : her children, Terry Kooienga (Kathy) and Shirley Hamming (Rick); and her brother Bob Vander Ploeg (Tiiu). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
