She was predeceased by: her former husband Thomas Lugten. She is survived by: her husband Robert "Rocky" Penning; her daughter Debra Volkers; her stepson Chris Penning; her grandchildren, Zack Volkers (Jourdan Sergent), Abby and Jake Snellink; her great grandchildren, Emery Snellink and Cassidy Snellink; and her siblings, Marilyn Pomranka, Sharon (Rog Sikkema), Matt (Diane Sevensma) and Merrie Westerling. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Reformed Church.
