He was predeceased by : his parents, T. R. Wirtanen and Siiri H. Wirtanen (Johnson); and his brother Philip. He is survived by : his sons, Ross (Junko) and Andrew (Shannon); his siblings, Sandra Mitchell (Bernard) and Chris (Betty Lou); his sister-in-law June Wirtanen; and his grandsons, Aki, Sena, Lenni, Arlo and Esko. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
