She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorothy Mae (Bond) and John Floyd Palmer; and her brother Douglas Palmer. She is survived by: her husband Rodney Koivula of Ishpeming; her sons, Bryn Koivula (Linda Kennedy) of Ishpeming and Tom Koivula (Brenda Currie) of Ishpeming; her granddaughter Brihanna Koivula; her siblings, Marilyn Argall (Ken), Marjorie Sanchez-Palmer, Beverly Nelson, Kathleen West and David Palmer (Carol) of Ishpeming; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Johnson (Ernest) of Marquette and Susan Koivula of Marquette. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
