He was predeceased by : his parents, John Sorenson and Frances Sorenson (Fisher); his grandson Matthew B. Thompson; and his siblings, Joann Weis, Gene Sorenson, John Sorenson and Joe Sorenson.

He is survived by : his children, Debbie Dowding (Leroy) of Charlotte, David Sorenson of Onondaga, Stephanie Wright (Curtis Reynolds) of Jackson and Steve Shepherd (Amber) of Jackson; his brother Gordon Sorenson of Council Bluffs, IA; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Sorenson of Wisconsin. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Village Hope Church (123 W Porter St, Jackson, MI 49202). A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
