Lawrence R. McDonald Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence R. McDonald Jr. of Johannesburg, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 13, 2025 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence and Francis; his siblings-in-law, Ricky Prusakiewicz and Renee Kovloski; his uncles, Gary (David Benware), Art (Catherine McDonald), John (Teresa Michon) and Roland Eldred; and his godfather Ike Chamberlain.
He is survived by: his wife Denise McDonald; his children, Dustin McDonald (Stephanie) and Mellisa McDonald (Adam); his siblings, Tina Rinkel (Craig), Todd McDonald (Laurie) and Richard McDonald (Tina); his grandchildren, Tesa, Kimball, Addison, Maiya and Bryn McDonald; his parents-in-law, Richard and Margaret Prusakiewicz; and his sisters-in-law, Corrie Clark (Don) and Terrie Emaus (Kirk). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Mary Cathedral (606 N Ohio Ave, Gaylord, MI 49735). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McDonalds House.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
