He was predeceased by : his parents, Claude E. Rowley, Sr. and Eva Rowley (Sheperson); his former life partner Rosemary Rowley; his son Paul Rowley; and his brothers, Charles Brumm and David Rowley.

He is survived by : his wife Merline; his daughter Tina Jones; his siblings, Vernon Brumm of Battle Creek and Ingrid Simpson of Ypsilanti; and his stepchildren, Bonnie Kanouse and William Warner. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
