He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Burns (Baker); his parents, Melvin A. Burns and Mildred Burns (Holden); his siblings, Keith Burns, Shirley Beecham (Burns) and Donna Mae Burns; and his grandson Micheal Burns.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin Burns Jr., Robert Burns, Brian Burns (Mischelle), Julie Diaz (Louis) and Sherri Burns (Kerry); his granddaughter Jamie Tubb (Robert); and his stepdaughters, Kay Archambo (Burns) and Betty Lou Ponichtera (Burns). He is also survived by Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
