He was predeceased by : his parents, George Rentschler and Lura Rentschler (Dell); his wife Julia Jane Tift; his daughter Sharon Lynn Rentschler; his siblings, Beatrice Kortes (Wellman), Franklin Rentschler (Pauline), Mabel Hammel (Harold), Thelma House (Clayton), Grace Smith (John), Lura Mae Jason (Chuck), Earl Rentschler (Norma) and Ralph Rentschler; and his son-in-law Mark Edward Fagerman.

He is survived by : his children, Eugene Rentschler (Johanna) of Lakeview, Dallas Rentschler (Christine) of Kentwood, Denise Schneider (Don) of Lowell and Karen Fagerman of Rockford; his grandchildren, Trevor Rentschler (Emily), Hayden Rentschler, Jennifer Rentschler, Bradley Rentschler (Nydia), Amanda Bowers (Adam), Allison Sikorski (Ryan), Amber Schneider (Shawn) and Cody Fagerman (Tina); and his great grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Tensley, Graham, Isaiah, Caleb, Levi, Cole and Micah.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Life United Methodist Church or to the Langston Bible Church.
