She was predeceased by : her parents, George and Bertha Reed (Fleury); her husband Elwood Niemi; and her siblings, Melvin Reed and Mildred Ollila.

She is survived by : her children, Mary Niemi of L'Anse, Linda Dorsky (Ben) of L'Anse, Elwood Niemi (Cindy) of L'Anse and Sandra Rice (Chad) of L'Anse; and her nieces, Cindy McDonald, Barbara Nankervis and Sharon Niemi. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
