He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Hannah and Charlotte Hannah. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Hannah; his son Duwayne Hannah (Jamie); his grandsons, Michael Hannah, Bryant Moore and Nicholas Bauer; his sister Barbara Scears; and his nieces, Connie Wolven and Marcia Linebaugh (Kelly).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, or to Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter in memory of John E. Hannah.
