He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carlson and Alice Carlson (Anderson); and his brother-in-law Marion Taylor. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Erik Carlson (Brooke), Megan Scarborough (Shawn) and Steven Shamka (Jeannie); his grandchildren, Andrew, Ella Carlson, Drake Hensley, Addelyn Scarborough, Jesse, Scott Shamka, Sarah Tracy (Adam) and Elizabeth Campitiello (Anthony); his great grandchildren, Halli, Nico Campitiello, Caroline and Waylon Tracy; his siblings, Kurt Carlson (Sharon) and Kristine Mack (Rick); and his siblings-in-law, Jeff Hunt (Kolleen), Susan Weismiller (Larry) and Linda Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mills Funeral Home - Peters & Murray Chapel (301 E Jefferson St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
