Peggy A. Goodroe Obituary
Peggy A. Goodroe, aged 61, of Linwood, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan after a brief illness. Born on June 4, 1963, to Donald and Mary Lou Baker, Peggy's life was a testament to her loving, thoughtful and spunky spirit that made her cherished by many.
Peggy shared her journey with the love of her life, Marty Goodroe, whom she married on her birthday in 1999. They complimented each other with a very jovial spirit which made their years together filled with lots of laughter, love, and the simple pleasures of life, creating memories that Marty will hold dear forever. She was always seen with her beloved twin sister Patty Kundinger, and was a sister-in-law to John Kundinger, both of whom will miss her deeply.
Peggy's love and influence extended to her siblings, and many family and friends. She is survived by her brothers, Richard & Margie Baker, Roger & June Baker, Randy & Kelly Baker, Ryan & Jenae Baker, and her sisters, Pam & Mike Molnar, and Penny & Mike Gulvas.
She had many nieces, nephews, and extended family that were blessed to have Peggy in their lives. She had a special relationship with her godson and buddy-boy, Shawn Baker, who affectionately knew her as "Pooh."She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Lou Baker, who she appreciated greatly and admirably cared for at many critical moments throughout their lives.
Peggy's professional life was marked by her dedication to caring for others. She was very respected as a registered nurse at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw for 22 years, where her compassion and expertise were evident in her interactions with patients and colleagues alike. Following her tenure at Covenant Healthcare, Peggy continued her commitment to service at Region VII Area Agency on Aging, where she concluded her career as a director. Her work impacted many lives, and her absence will be deeply felt by her professional community.
Beyond her career, Peggy was known for her heart of gold, which shone brightly even in the smallest of gestures. She never sought attention for herself but was always present to celebrate the successes and support the challenges of those around her. Her ability to remember the details about people's lives made her a cherished friend and confidante.
Peggy always enjoyed camping with family and friends and savoring a good bottle of wine. There are many great stories that will live on about nights spent around a campfire with her!A visitation to honor her life and share fond memories will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11am-3pm at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, concluding with a prayer. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
