He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wellington and Helen Wellington (Doud); his wife Lois "Geraldine" Wellington; his sons, George Wellington Jr., Richard Wessel and William Wessel; and his siblings, Jim, Helen Ann, Dorothy and Jean.
He is survived by: his daughter Carrie Wellington of Mackinac Island; his daughter-in-law Ellen Putnam of Mackinac Island; his granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah; his great grandchildren, Owen, Jace and Isabella; and his siblings, Captain Jon "Jack" Wellington and Mary Alice of Sault Ste. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wellington Home (7619 6th St, Mackinac Island, MI 49757). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Ann's Catholic Church. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the Mackinac Island Community Hall (7358 Market St, Mackinac Island, MI 49757).
