It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Helminiak of Manistee, Michigan, who passed away on February 13, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Pricilla "Sadie" Helminiak (Adamski) and John Helminiak; his siblings, Elizabeth Purgiel (Betty), Leona Ake, Evelyn Abramcyk, Annabelle Johnson, Edward (Spades), Frank (Chummy), Anthony (Tony), John Jr. and Louis Helminiak; and his parents-in-law, Lawrence Sr. and Neva Fortier.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Helminiak of Manistee; his daughters, Susan Kolanowski (Jim) of Manistee, Bonnie Bielefeld (Stephen) of Milwaukee, Audrey Lafforgue (Dan) of Brinnon, Leanne Quinn of Manistee, Julie Loeweke of Manistee and Janine Bravo (Sebastian Orbe) of Bensonville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jennifer Howes (Jarrod) of Brethren, Andrew Kolanowski (Heather) of Manistee, Ashley Sorenson (Crystal) of Marysville, Nicholas Kolanowski (Olivia) of Manistee, Abigale Racine-Hyde (Charles) of Urbana-Champaign, Joseph Quinn of Manistee and Patrick Quinn of Manistee; his great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jolie Howes of Brethren and Claire Kolanowski of Manistee; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Johnson, Lawrence Fortier Jr. of Manistee, Marian Johnson, Lois Green, Carrie Jayne Devereaux, Joanne Fortier, Jeanne Pefley of Manistee, Denise Fortier of Manistee, Terri Tytar of Grand Rapids, Clare Shipstead of Traverse City, Renee Harrison of East Lansing and Emily Helminiak of Ludington. He is also survived by Numerous nieces and nephews.
