She was predeceased by: her parents, George J. Smedman and Ella A. Smedman (Choquette); her husband William E. Rule; and her siblings, Theresa Schmeltzer, Helen Myers (Charles) and Charles T. Smedman (Lucille).
She is survived by: her children, W. Scott Rule (Mary) of Marquette, James P. Rule (Sherri) of Marquette, Mary Buhrmann (Wayne) of Marquette and Beth A. Heidtman (Gary) of Marquette; her granddaughters, Jennifer Rule, Jacqueline Smith (Nick), Erin Rule, Allison Rule and Kathryn Buhrmann; her stepgranddaughters, Angela Liberty (Jason) and Katie Rowe (Mike); her brother-in-law Wilbur "Bud" Schmeltzer; her sibling's child Jackie Gonda (Patrick); and her great-nephew Nicholas Gonda. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.
