He was predeceased by : his parents, Bruce Leonard and Opal Mae Kent (Cumper); and his siblings, Willard J. Kent, Fred C. Kent and Barbara J. Austin.

He is survived by : his wife Joyce Austin; his children, Beverly Cottrell (James) and Dale Robert Kent; and his siblings, Peggy MacPherson (Dwight), Audrey Whinnery (William), Bruce Kent (Donna) and Billie Kent (Diane).
