He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Smith and Emma Smith (Miles); his wife Sue Smith; his son Christopher Smith; and his grandson Jacob.

He is survived by : his children, Kimberly Boots (Bill) and David Smith (Alice); and his grandchildren, Cody, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Michelle, Tori, Brian and Sarah. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; and his two brothers.
