She is survived by: her husband Don Nichols of Menominee, MI; her sons, Scott Nichols (Susan) of Menomonee Falls, WI and Kevin Nichols (Julie) of Menominee; her grandchildren, Haley Matlin-Nichols (Chris) of Menomonee Falls, Leta Okuagu (Daniel), Levi Nichols of Dallas, TX, Ethan, Zachary and Isaac Nichols of Menomonee Falls; her great grandchildren, Beza, Isioma, Oluoma and Flora; her brothers, Bill Nyberg (Carol) of Anderson, IN and Paul Nyberg (Betty) of Menominee; her brother-in-law John Roach of Lake Zurich, IL; and her friend Sandi Gypp. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Donations can be made payable to Bethel Lutheran Church who will make a donation in Karen's name to Lutheran World Relief.
