Stanley T. Yascolt Obituary
Stanley T. "Stas" Yascolt, a cherished brother, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. Born on June 3, 1941, in Midland to the late Stanley C. and Felicia (Belchak) Yascolt, Stas grew up in Pinconning on the family farm.
Stas proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1963, an experience that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and camaraderie. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a career as an electrician, where he was a respected member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). His dedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to his colleagues and the community he served.
A passionate advocate for alternative energy, Stas was a life member of Citizens for Alternatives to Chemical Contamination. His advocacy for the environment was not just a cause; it was a calling. He believed in a world where nature and progress could coexist harmoniously, and he worked tirelessly to make that vision a reality.
Stas's interests extended beyond his professional life. He was a man of deep faith and a proud proponent of his Polish Catholic heritage. His voice, singing Polish hymns during mass, was a testament to his love for his culture and his unwavering faith. Those who knew him will remember a man who was faith-filled, funny, and passionate about the world and the people in it.
He leaves behind his two sisters, Marjorie Pinard and Susan Yascolt, and a special cousin, Fideles Currie, who will miss his warmth and humor. Stas's presence was a light in the lives of all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Stas Yascolt's journey through life was marked by the joy he found in simple pleasures, the friendships he cherished, and the causes he championed. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. As we honor his life, we take solace in the knowledge that his spirit will live on, guiding us with the same humor and passion that he shared so generously during his time with us.
Graveside services will be held Thursday July 24, 2025 at 2 pm at St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemtery, Pinconning, Michigan.
