He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Schanck, Sr. and Pearl M. Schanck (Nash); his wife Marie Schanck (Cournyer); his siblings, Bertha Condon, Florence Thompson, Raymond Hughes and Roy Hughes; and his son-in-law Melvin Kalafut.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Kalafut, William, Debbie Schanck, Patricia Schanck, John and Fran Schanck III; and his grandchildren, Michael (Heidi Green), Melissa Merrit, Jennifer Wohlrabe, John Keith Schanck, Anthony Schanck, Sarah (Brian Orr), Rebecca Schanck, Ashley Peterson and John Schanck IV. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and lots of good friends.
