It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Louise Smale of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, George M. Smale and Shirley J. Smale (Ingersoll); and her grandparents, Floyd and Billie Smale. She is survived by : her sisters, Dolores Cline (Steve) of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Beard (Tom) of Vestaburg, Brenda Grim (Jack) of Shepherd and Janet Cook (Dean) of Shepherd; and her nieces and nephews, Janelle Joslin (Jon), Charlie Cline (Jennifer), Melissa Clark (Joel), Rashel Johnson, Shane Grim, Scott Grim (Brittany), Sheldon Grim (Melissa), Jamie Machuta (Sheldon Sanderson), Ashley Topper (Josh) and Alicia Durham (Mike). She is also survived by 15 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 8 great grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kirby's Shady Oak AFC Home.
