He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Chester Irla and Dorothea Irla (Kiminski); his wife Karen Rose Kopitz; his children, Jacob and Kelsey Rose; and his siblings, Julianne Gawel (Ken), Kathryn Irla-Chesney (Scott), Dennis Irla (Catherine) and Paul Irla (Gloria).

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
