He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry McAfee Senior and Alberta McAfee; his children, Ethyl Franklin, Robert Hunter and Lee Hunter; and his siblings, Pauline Hunter Hightower, Henry McAfee Jr., Willie Jim McAfee, Rev. Milton P. McAfee and Rev. Johnnie Lee McAfee.

He is survived by : his wife Charlie McAfee of Niles, Michigan; and his children, Brenda Harmon of Benton, Gerald McAfee of Benton, Hulon Jr. McAfee Jr. (Rita) of Benton, Frederick McAfee (Tammy) of Spotsylvania, VA., Denise Brooks of Ft. Smith, AK, Dorothy Thomas, Stella Hunter, Dewayne Hunter, Freeman Hunter (Alicia) of Sandusky, OH., Jonathan Hunter (Antoinette) of Lawrenceville, GA., Darlene Hunter of Snellville, GA., Champion Hunter of Meridian, MS and Eric Sales (Janie). He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren, sixty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Bethel Baptist Church (2360 Townline Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at the Mt Pleasant Cemetery.
