James Raymond Naperala Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Raymond Naperala of Norton Shores, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement Naperala and Ursula Naperala; his niece Amy; his parents-in-law, Helen Hanks and Earl Hanks; and his brother-in-law Roger Erb.
He is survived by: his wife Mary K. Hanks; his sons, Michael J. Naperala (Mickie) and Mark E. Naperala (Heidi); his grandchildren, Logan Naperala (Maggie) and Alexis "Lexi" Naperala; his brothers, Richard Naperala (Cheryl) and Thomas Naperala; and his sisters-in-law, JoEllen Minor, Betty Mayberry and Earlene Erb. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 8:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
Memorial Contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Leila and Cyrus Poppen House or to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church Building Fund.
