He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hughes and Evelyn Hughes (Claes); and his sister Jeanne Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Sandra K. Hughes (Steinhoff) of Bay City; his sons, Jeffery Allen Hughes of Essexville and Robert Frank Hughes (Martha) of Fairgrove, Michigan.; and his siblings, Marilyn Hebert (Ken) of Decatur, AL, Carole Balley (Tom) and Jerry Hughes of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by uncle and grandpa, regardless of what the parents.
