Arlette Mae Chowen Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlette Mae Chowen in Onaway, Michigan, who passed away on August 8, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orphia Cradit (Dunn) and John Jesse King; her husband Hugh Chowen; her siblings, Sharon Williams, Judy Decker, Carla King, John "Jack" King and Victor King; and her stepsister Bonnie Tallman.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Chowen (LeaAnne), Julie Chowen (Jesús Argente), Yvonne Patterson (Tim), Matthew Chowen (Tanya) and Jennifer Chowen Plowman (Shon); her grandchildren, Ashlee Cowles (Jordan), Haylee Nelson (Adam), Mollee Fishaw (Zach), Jacob Patterson (Lydia), Joe Patterson (Aimee), Jeff Patterson, Jared Chowen, Hollee Rodgers (Arrick), Kaelee Hawkins (Lee), Akron Plowman and Kade Plowman; her great grandchildren, Sophia, James, Charlotte, Luke, Ben, Declan, Morgan, Arwen, Reilly, Marcella, Isla, Jack, Oliver, Archer, Chance and Emerald; her stepson Chris Bishop (Staci); her grandsons, Levi Bishop, Brice Bishop (Abby), Adam Bishop (Jazmyn) and Simeon Bishop (Heather Kullgren); her great grandchildren, Landon, Evelyn, Riley, Mary, Leigh, Madelyn and Rowan; her daughter Jennifier; and her sister Darlene Nuss (Dick). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chagnon Funeral Home (20742 State St, Onaway, MI 49765). A rosary will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (20811 Washington St, Onaway, MI 49765).
She could be found at every game or performance cheering everyone on, but also at every fundraiser and donating her time when needed for any school or social activity.
