He was predeceased by: his parents, John Simmons and Alberta Simmons (Wisenbaugh); his children, Rodney Risner Sr. and Janice Renee Mays; his granddaughter Tiffany DeMott; his son-in-law Jerry Brown; and his sisters, Diane Hampton (Ricky) and Joyce Simmons.
He is survived by: his former wife Sandra Priestley; his wife Sandy; and his children, Robin Risner, Dennis DeMott (Jackie), Rhonda Hubbard and Deanna Brown. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew; 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews and 1 great-great niece.
