He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Brooks and Lizzie Belle Brooks (Anthony); his wife Marjorie Outman of Virginia; his stepmother Nellie Brooks; and his stepsiblings, Flora Helen Rice (Ivan) and Richard Deane (Marjorie Brooks).
He is survived by: his children, Tom, Tim (Kathy) and Peggy (Brent); his grandchildren, Jared (Ashley), Tyler, Marshall (Morgan), Kristian Brooks, Ingrid Dettman (Robb) and Grace Perkins (Jeremiah); his great grandchildren, Alexa, Mikayla, Lizzie Dettman, Bruce, Evie Perkins, Hunter, Leyah, Miles and Niklaus Brooks; his aunt Minnie; and his uncle Frank Freeman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
