He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Abe Smelser and Wilma Smelser (Boyd); his wife Judith Hawkey; his sons, Tim Smelser (Kari) and Jeff Smelser (Serena); his grandchildren, Adam Smelser, Tiffany Baron (Chris), Carly Smelser (Billy VanAelst) and Joshua Smelser; his great grandchildren, Nathan Lott, Andrew Lott, Lillyana Smelser and Aiden Lott; and his nephews, Dan and Scott Caverson.
