It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson Edward Gates of Owosso, Michigan, born in Wilmington, Ohio, who passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gates and Helen Gates (Browning); his wife Janice Houseman; and his son Mark Gates. He is survived by: his children, Diane Sedlar (David) of Olivet, Nicole Clifford (Kevin) of Owosso and Thomas Gates of Owosso; and his brother Howard Gates (Judy) of Sabina, Ohio. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; other loving family and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Owosso First Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.
