He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Max Shields and Frances Shields (McCall); his wife Marilyn J. Shields of Advance; his children, David Shields of Anchorage, Scott Shields of Boyne City and Caron Withers (Bob) of Charlevoix; his grandchildren, Jennie, Sarah, Steve and Brent; his great grandchildren, Seth, Brody and Giovanna; and his brother Michael Shields (Delores) of Houghton Lake.
