He was predeceased by: his siblings, Willis Galer (Olive) and Connie VanLuven; and his sister-in-law Barbara Callentine. He is survived by: his friend Dale Reich; his wife Shirley "Lorraine" Galer (Cottle); his children, Sheila Galer Rogers of Owosso, Dana Merlin Galer (Barbara) of Pickford, Douglas Conrad Galer (Kellie) of Gaylord and Jeri Galer Ernst (Larry) of Pickford; his grandchildren, Abby Doyle (Liam), Megan Simms (Jeff), Mandy Schroeder (Chris Atkins), Michael Galer (Courtney Hoeffchen), Wendy Galer (Chris Stolk), Eric Galer (Caitlin), Travis Ernst (Megan Clark), Jordan Ernst and Connor Ernst; his great grandchildren, Lucy, William Doyle, Benjamin, Izabelle, Conrad Simms, Maddie Linck, Kyleigh Atkins, Kaydence, Aron Galer, Grace and Burton Galer; and his siblings-in-law, Gerald Cottle (Sharon), Charles Cottle (Marcia), William "Bill" Callentine, Ronald Paul VanLuven, Virgene MacDonald (Marvin) and Mary Galer.
The gathering and memorial service will follow current social distancing guidelines and masks will be required.
