Theodore Polaski Jr. Obituary
Theodore Polaski, Jr. (Ted) aged 60, a beloved member of the family, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30th surrounded by his immediate family. He was born on October 11, 1964 in Wyandotte, MI to parents Theodore Sr. and Donna Polaski of Pinconning, where he spent most of his years.
Ted (Teddy) was a proud patriot who was passionate about family, fun and the outdoors. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp as a CH-53 Sea Stallion mechanic and crew chief. After his service, he continue his career in aviation in Detroit, MI and Atlanta, GA., and was a member of Polish Legion of American Veterans (P.L.A.V.) Post 162. He loved playing his guitar, scuba diving, golf, camping and fishing, corn hole, and spent many hours watching his beloved Tigers, Red Wings, Lions, and Wolverines. He was also pretty sharp at cards and trivia. Most notably, Teddy was usually the center of attention wherever he went and was well known to keep people on their toes with his sharp wit, sassy attitude, and ability to throw a good zinger with a twinkle in his eye.
Teddy is survived by sons Sean Michael Polaski of Oscoda, David Joseph Polaski of Detroit, granddaughters Cheyenne Thompson and Izabella Fettes, parents Ted and Donna Polaski of Pinconning, sisters Shirley Polaski of Bay City, Jennifer (Sean) Maloy of Leasburg, N.C., Kristy (Rob) Griffin of Van Buren MO and brother Steve (Tracy) Polaski of Pinconning, MI. Also surviving Teddy are beloved niece and goddaughter Heather Sardela of Austin, TX, Chelsy Darby of Grand Rapids, MI, Morgan (Massimiliano) Savino of Milan, Italy, Hailey (Caleb) McDonald of St. Louis, MO, nephew Jeremy (Neely) Griffin of VanBuren MO, several great nieces and nephews and godmother Darlene Polaski of Bay City, MI. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Brown Easton, Ethel Bellor (Easton) Amley, Joseph and Amelia Polaski, godfather and uncle Michael Polaski, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His family would like to thank the staff at the Close To Home Assisted Living (E. South Union facility) for his wonderful care and attention, especially those who were with him the longest, Crystal, Sarah, Vicki, Julie, Kaycie, and LeAnn. Also, his friend and best buddy John.
A special thank you to Care Team Hospice members Pastor Don Kiley and nurses Nicole Lamb and Rebecca Erickson for their compassion, guidance and care of Teddy and his family during this difficult time.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity-St. Michael's Parish, with Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding. Family will greet friends and family on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00pm at Lee-Ramsay Pinconning Chapel, with a prayer vigil at 7:00 pm, and on Wednesday at Church from 10:00 am until time of service.
