He is survived by : his parents, Alfred Schafer and Cecilia Schafer (Schneider); his daughter Sharon Schafer; his wife Catherine Schafer; and his children, Michael Schafer (Ronda), Deborah Kuieck (Richard), Jane Russ (Daniel), Gregory Schafer (Cindy) and Joseph Schafer. He is also survived by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters.
