He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Michela and Agatha Michela (Caffo); his wife Donna M. Nieman; his sisters, Nell Rolka, Elsie Adrian and Emma Murray; and his son-in-law John Borchers.

He is survived by : his children, Bob Michela (Mary), Tami Koval (Chuck) and Kip Michela (Linda); his grandchildren, Jen Mylock (Jeff), Lisa Bontz (Martin), Laura Carroll (Jeremy), Gina Borchers (Joe Mayo), Jeff Borchers, Ashley Barberi (Danny) and Brit Tunney (Eric); and his great grandchildren, Alayna Mylock, Rowan Barberi, Vada Barberi, Kallen Tunny and Mariella Tunney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
