She was predeceased by : her parents, Merle Brandes and Nancy Brandes (Thomas); and her brother David Brandes. She is survived by : her husband Scott Barnes of Prudenville; her children, Vanessa Wallace of Houghton Lake and Blake Wallace (Amanda Sherwood) of Houghton Lake; her stepchildren, Ashley Witte (Brian) and Brandy Barnes; her grandchildren, Theo Witte, Noah Martindale and Resse Martindale; her siblings, Michael Brandes (Carol) of Canton, Richard Brandes (Cindi) of Tennessee, Theresa Brandes of Tennessee, Kathy Brandes of Westland and Sheryl Wilson of Dearborn Heights; and her former life partner Larry Wallace of Houghton Lake.
