He is survived by: his wife Mary Embach; his children, Mark Mapes (Kelley) of Allen, MI, Matthew Mapes (Beth) of Reading, MI and Elizabeth Mapes Black of Reading, MI; his grandchildren, Douglas, Kaitlyn, Sean, Brittany, Rivers, Marshall, Noah, Tyler and Matthew; his great grandchildren, Kristyn, Jordyn, Adelyn, Talan, Kendra and Kasen; and his brother Joseph Mapes (Irene) of Hillsdale, MI..

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Ralph can be made to the Heartland Hospice of Mason or Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hudson.
