She was predeceased by : her parents, Edwin Grossnickle and Fern Grossnickle (Dilling); her husband John R. Proos; and her sister Judy. She is survived by : her sons, Scott Michael Proos of Augusta, MI and James Todd Proos of Kalamazoo; and her siblings, Joy, Dr. Neil E. Grossnickle of Grand Rapids, MI and Dr. Nevin "Ned" Grossnickle (Mary) of Mosinee, WI. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
