She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Cumming and Lois Cumming (Wilcox); and her husband Thomas Nielsen. She is survived by : her children, Timothy Nielsen (Nola), Daniel Nielsen (Lyn) and Bonnie Bartz (James); her grandchildren, Bjorn Nielsen, Anneke Nielsen (Jerika), Jonathan Nielsen, Lucas Nielsen, William Bartz (Beth Stoltenberg) and Emily Bartz; her great grandchildren, Kavik, Ronan and Saylor Nielsen; and her brother Erving Cumming (Alberta).

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena County Democratic Party, or Charity of Friends Choice.
