She was predeceased by: her husband Dennis Childs; and her siblings, Andrea "Andi" Walters, William "Bill" Weidner, Barbara Corefield, Karen Tucker and Carl "Pete" Weidner.

She is survived by: her sons, Duane David Taft (Kate) of Grand Rapids and Philip Taft (Renee) of Chandler; her grandchildren, Ella Taft, Jenna Taft and Kyler Taft; and her siblings, Jo Ann Zurek (Don), Henry "Max" Weidner, George "Sam" Weidner (Liz), Edward "Ed" Weidner (Becky), Marion "Micki" Kramer (Tom), Mary Jane Weidner and Doris Highland (Bill).

Memorial Donations may be made to the Humane Society.

“I worked with Yvonne from the late 80's until she retired. Quite often, when I was a new carrier, she would give me a hand or supply me with information that helped to make the job just a little bit easier, even though we didn't work in the same unit. Her humor made some crazy days tolerable. Her kindness has always stayed with me and I've tried to pay it forward. She was missed by many in the office when she retired. A beautiful soul, taken too soon. With deepest sorrow, Kathie Norgan”
