He was predeceased by : his mother Peggy Lee Lerma (Wheatley); his son Lewis Mark Wheatley III; his grandparents, Gibson and Ada Wheatley; his sisters, Terri Lerma and Peggy Lerma; and his aunt Debra Lerma.

He is survived by : his father Philip Lerma; his children, Melissa Ross, Stephanie Scripter (Dustin), Jessica Wheatley and Angel Wheatley; his grandchildren, Joshaua Goslyn, Damian Davis, Joezi, Lynzi, Nyezi Scripter, Aubrianna and Zaiyanna Minous; and his brothers, Christopher Lerma, Erik Lerma (Natalie) and Robert Lerma (Rachel).
