He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Caropepe and Mary Caropepe (Bavido); and his sister Jeanette Polfus (Harold "Red"). He is survived by : his wife Bernadette Caropepe of St. Joseph; his children, Joe Caropepe (Karen) of Seattle, WA, Lisa Merrill (Kurt) of Hobart, IN, Chris Caropepe (Melissa) of Holland, MI and Jason Caropepe (Heather) of St. Joseph; his grandchildren, Zack, Addison Merrill, Jacob, Colin Caropepe, Myles Fischl and Leo Caropepe; and his brother Vince Caropepe (Louise).
