He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack E. Matheny and Darlene Cork; his stepfather Jack Cork; his stepbrother Paul Matheny; and his granddaughter Angel Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle; his daughters, Christy Meilstrup (Simon) and Julie Mitchell (Allen); his brother David Matheny (Carla); his granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan Meilstrupand Ariana Mitchell; and his pet Maggie May.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be left to the local American Legion or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
