He was predeceased by : his parents, Ora Charles and Gertrude McCready; his wife Mary; and his son William. He is survived by : his children, Chuck McCready (late Beverly McCready) of Sault Ste, Marie, Mary Mervar (Kevin) of L'Anse, Michigan, Michael McCready (Krys) of Alice Springs, Australia, Anne Vieau of Mackinaw City, Michigan, Kathy Weber (Kent) of Thessalon, Ontario and Sandy Jorgenson (late Eric Jorgenson) of Lanse; his grandchildren, Theresa McCready, Isaiah, Josephine Mervar, Nicholas Vieau, Elizabeth Weber, Emily and John Jorgenson; his sister Mary Baron; his brother-in-law Patrick O'Halloran (Nicki); and his goddaughter Mary Disch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Family Life Funeral Homes - Sault Ste (4951 M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783). A prayer was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (606 E 4th Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's School Tuition Assistance Fund, 360 Maple St., Sault Sainte Marie, MI 49783.
